Grace Pearson Scholarship Hall
Grace Pearson Scholarship Hall is one of 12 scholarship halls at the University of Kansas, funded by a 1945 gift of alumna Gertrude Sellards Pearson and her husband, Joseph R. Pearson. Grace Pearson Scholarship Hall is a dormitory in City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. Grace Pearson Scholarship Hall is situated nearby to the university building Spooner Hall and the pitch Krehbiel Basketball Court.
Grace Pearson is a co-ed scholarship hall separated into single gender by floor. It offers four-person suites and is located across the street from Crawford Community Center, the gathering place for scholarship halls. Grace Pearson Hall opened in 1955 and is home to 50 residents.
Grace Pearson is often referred to as “GP” to avoid confusion with Pearson Scholarship Hall and Gertrude Sellards Pearson Residence Hall.

The residents of Grace Pearson are highly involved group. The hall features a large living room, a trophy case with a collection of basketball memorabilia, and a ping-pong table. The hall has wireless internet, free laundry, and an academic resource center with computers and study aids.
The floor plans for Grace Pearson Scholarship Hall Gallery
The floor plans for Douthart, Grace Pearson, and Sellards Hall are all similar. Each four-person suite has two 2-person bedrooms and a common room. The beds are bunked. Beds in Douthart and Grace Pearson were changed in summer 2021 to extra long twins (36″ x 80″). Sellards rooms will continue to have standard twin size mattresses (36″ x 75″) because of the room size. Rooms also are furnished with window blinds, and a desk, desk chair, built-in dresser, and closet space for each resident.

Prerequisites
To be eligible to apply for a scholarship hall, you must have applied and electronically signed a contract for housing, paid the $50 non-refundable housing application fee, and paid the KU enrollment deposit by April 1, 2022.
Students who do not have an active KU Student Housing contract for the term for which they are applying will not be able to submit a scholarship hall application.
Answer the essay prompt: “Why do you want to live in the scholarship hall community?” There is a 250-word maximum limit.
GPA and Test Scores
KU Student Housing will review your GPA and test scores for academic achievement. You will have already submitted your scores as part of your application to KU Admissions. You do not need to re-send them to KU Student Housing.
Financial Aid
KU Student Housing will review your FAFSA to assess financial need. You will have already submitted your information as part of your student financial aid application. You do not need to re-send it to KU Student Housing.
Applicants can be considered without completing a FAFSA.
